Prototype 3

Week 7 - Class 1

For this weeks prototyping we began with a prototype 'moment'. This meant we were prototyping only a small aspect of the proposed event that we were planning. This involved testing ways our phone free handover would be a rewarding experience for the attendee. For this we created a wheel system where when they handed over their phone at the entrance to the event they would be rewarded with a spin of the wheel where they had the chance to win tokens, which could be spent at the event,
movie vouchers, food and drink vouchers or other fun prizes. This would give the guests more of an incentive to give up their phone.

We got some very useful critique when testing this aspect of our event which will help us when refining this idea. The main issue that arose was the fact people could win a voucher from the wheel and then proceed to ask for their phone back and just leave the event. This could also mean that people could re enter and spin the wheen again which is definitely not something we want.

to solve this issue we think the prozes from the wheel will just be a certain amount of tokens which you have to go into the evnt to use. This would avoid the issue of people just leaving after they spin the wheel.

We need to make it clear before the event that this is a phone free event, so people will arrive knowing they have to give up their phone. This means people will feel more at ease when giving up their phone for the event, as we found people were slightly anxious and hesitant at the thought of giving it up. We need to make sure people would want to come to this event knowing they cant use their phone.

To solve the issue of people wanting to take photos or snapchats in the event, there could be a photographer on slight and maybe some photobooths and these photos will be uploaded to the facebook page.
