Refining our big idea, and getting feedback

Week 9 - Class 2


We received some really useful feedback in class regarding our big idea.

There were questions about our digital screen and face book event as since our event is a phone free event this might take away from that aspect, although they said this was more of a tension rather than something we should change.

They liked our idea of using the tote bags as a reward to be won within the event, and suggested these could also be bought, maybe with tokens. We are thinking when people have a certain amount of tokens they can buy a bag.

It was brought to our attention that the stickers could be touch point 1 or 2 as these could act as something to advertise the event, and to collect before the event. They suggested a sticker book as a way of collecting all the stickers and gives people somewhere to put them.

At the moment we are thinking the stickers will act as touch point 2 but also be something that is constantly available to find after the event. They will be placed on adhesive posters around courtenay place like toilets, reading cinmas, bus stops etc. This will be a chance for people to collect stickers before the event so they have more of an incentive to go to the event and spend their tokens. This will also be an opportunity for more exposure for the event and create more excitement for the people wanting to attend it.

Week 6 - Class 1 We have found from our research that nostalgia and social events are successful ways to encourage millennials to live in the moment.  We are currently thinking to create an event revolved around nostalgia which would remind millennials how much fun they had before they had their phone. Today we began to protoype our event idea by showing a few participants nostalgic images to start a conversatoins about what is nostalgic for different people. surprisingly millennials are very nostalgic compared to other generations, so we believe a social event involving nostalgia in some way would be a successful strategy to encourage millennials to put down their phones and live in the moment by rememebering the past. We want to remind millennials how much fun they had in their childhood before they had phones. Millennials were a lot more engaged with their surroundings when we didn't rely on technology.
