Our event so far

Week 6 - Thursday discussions

DONT FORGET WHY THIS EVENT IS HAPPENING! NO PHONES, MORE FUN! Running Target Audience - Millennials (82’, 04’) -Event design would have to cater differently to each age group. 18 year olds will react and enjoy a night out differently to someone in their mid 20’s who tend to look for a more relaxed vibe when going out. Monthly - Theme change to cater to different age groups under the millennial umbrella - Potentially spacial changes with new designers collaborating each month (keep it fresh!) - Theme could relate to movies/tv screened Weekly - weekend or fridays after work? 6pm till 11pm Themed cocktail of the week? -This week games? This week movies? EACH WEEK TV SHOWS! ( series could change fortnightly) Featured activity with a screening of something nostalgic each week Movie nights can be a featured activity (once a month for a big screening) Photographer (weekly/fortnightly) or Photo Booth (once a month? - movie night?) Booklet given at end of event highlighting the cause Social Media Facebook page to update themes and what is screening at the event ( with the possibility to vote on what is screened -works well at the southern cross) UPDATES: This week we are bringing in/having…. Twitter? Other: Pay set price for tokens? Phone recycling station (bring in old phones for charity) Phone lockers or similar to a coat check (receive a tag/i.d) to collect at end of event or when you leave Food: -Food options would stay for a month then change up to reflect JOURNEY: Walk in, they will see a sign or prompt about no mobile phone beyond this point. On sign (go this way to drop off phone). After that they would go into the venue, they would see the bar and food place, see tv show room/ area and games room. They came after work, they are hungry and need some nibbles with coworkers or friends. After that, they can go sit down with a beverage and watch the tv show while chatting with friends… a debrief of sorts. Checking out the games to challenge their brain or just meet new people and challenge others to games. When they leave the person giving their phone back will give them an info pack (potentially a tote bag with merch and info of ways to be less dependant on phone usage).

we have been sketching our concepts for potential prommotion ideas and ways to get millenials interested in this event. Weve been thinking about how this event would be layed out. We've also been starting to think about touchpoints and what would happen before and after the event
